Wooden Lion Head
Caleb Nixon is one of our youngest members, but his talent goes far beyond his years. This incredible lion piece earned First Place at the Florida State Fair, and it’s easy to see why. The detail, depth, and craftsmanship are seriously impressive and reflect skills you’d expect from someone with decades of experience. Caleb’s work is a great reminder that age has nothing to do with true talent!
Custom Wall Unit
This custom wall unit was designed and built by Tom Bolen and installed and trimmed by Rick Borden. The built-in storage creates a clean focal point, while the LED backlighting adds a modern touch. The lighting is controlled directly from the homeowner’s phone, combining craftsmanship with smart functionality.
Custom Cabinets & Molding
Sometimes our members team up to combine their skills, this time it was to freshen up some dated kitchen cabinets with custom dining room built-ins to tie the entire space together.

The cabinets were built and designed by Tom Bolen and the beautiful trim and crown molding was done by Rick Borden. It is these little details that make any house a beautiful home.
Christmas Advent Village
Bill Reasoner created this wooden Christmas village advent calendar in the shape of a Christmas tree as a fun and thoughtful piece for the club’s annual Christmas party and white elephant gift exchange.
The tree lights up and rotates, turning it into a festive, interactive centerpiece. It’s a great example of Bill’s creativity and holiday spirit, and it quickly became a standout gift everyone wanted to take home.
Custom Taco Holder
Bill Reasoner creates a custom taco holder that is sure to make family taco night a memorable one! Not only is it a beautiful piece but its functionality really makes it stand out with the built-in sauce holder.
Custom Humidors
Another stunning creation by Bill Reeves. Building a humidor presents specific challenges, with the most critical being achieving a proper—but not perfectly airtight—seal. The box must be able to retain consistent moisture levels to preserve cigars without becoming so sealed that it promotes mold. Meticulous attention to detail in every step of the woodworking process is essential for success, and we think Bill knocked it out of the park with this one.
Intricate Wood Pieces
David Merrill specializes in intricate woodcraft, creating beautifully detailed pieces such as decorative wall art, cross designs, and ornate shelving. His work showcases exceptional scrollwork and precision, transforming wood into elegant, artistic statements that blend craftsmanship with timeless beauty.

Dave Carvalho is one of our skilled club members that offers his custom pieces for sale! A recent item he showcased at our club meeting was his beautiful wood topped bottle stoppers. Before & After
Diane Kemp‘s restoration project showcases the dramatic transformation of an antique dresser, breathing new life into a once-worn piece of furniture. With careful craftsmanship and attention to detail, she skillfully revitalized the dresser, preserving its timeless charm while enhancing its beauty. The stunning before-and-after contrast highlights the dedication and artistry behind the restoration, turning a forgotten relic into a striking centerpiece once again.
Custom Chess Set
Robert Babbitt showcases his woodworking mastery with a beautifully turned chess set crafted from walnut and maple, finished with a durable poly coat. The black pieces are elegantly stained with India ink, adding a striking contrast to the natural wood tones.
The chessboard itself holds a rich history, since Babbitt made the board more than 50 years ago. Featuring burled walnut squares, maple accents, and a walnut border, it exemplifies timeless craftsmanship. Babbitt plans to incorporate the board into a custom chess table, where he will refinish it to restore its original beauty, blending past and present woodworking expertise into a stunning final chess set.
Custom Podium
Paul Kranz built this custom podium. It features a unique, lightweight truss design that makes it easy to move, while the solid pine ensures it remains strong and stable. Loose-pin hinges allow you to set it up in minutes or flat-pack it for storage when it’s not needed. Wood comes unfinished, can be sold fully assembled or as a disassembled kit. Since these are custom built you can adjust the height to your specific needs. This podium is a practical and thoughtful gift for educators or anyone who regularly gives presentations.

Aaron Harrigan creates stunning custom wood purses and decorative wood-and-epoxy trays that seamlessly blend artistry with functionality. Although he humbly describes himself as an amateur woodworker, his craftsmanship tells a different story. Each piece showcases a keen eye for design, precise joinery, and a polished finish that reflects true skill and dedication. From the unique style of his handcrafted purses to the vibrant, fluid patterns of his epoxy trays, Harrigan’s work stands out as both beautiful and expertly made, proving his talents are anything but amateur.

Rick & Debbie Ward specialize in large-scale scroll saw projects, bringing intricate animal carvings to life with remarkable detail and craftsmanship. Their work features stunning depictions of wildlife, including majestic bears, wolves, wild horses, and marlin fish. Each piece showcases their skillful use of delicate cuts and layered depth, capturing the essence and movement of these creatures in beautifully crafted wood designs.

Custom Tools/Gifts
Chris Hathaway built this high-quality pizza cutter as a Christmas gift for his son-in-law, an avid fan of making homemade pizzas on the grill. The cutter itself was purchased from Rockler, while the handle was crafted from a striking acrylic blank acquired at the Woodturninz.com store during a visit to Indianapolis. The blank, aptly named “Inferno,” perfectly suited the fiery theme of pizza-making. The finished piece made for a unique and thoughtful gift, and his son-in-law was thrilled to receive it on Christmas.
Live Edge Pieces
Jeff Futch showcases his craftsmanship with a stunning Canarywood dining table, finished with Rubio Monocoat Pure to enhance its rich grain and durability. He also presents a collection of beautifully crafted bandsaw boxes, each showcasing his skill in woodworking and design. Using a variety of wood selections like – Black Walnut, Maple, Canarywood, Sweet Gun, and Cherry Burl. Which add an organic, artistic touch to his work.
Wood Carvings
Mark Corso showcases his exceptional carving skills with two stunning pieces of artwork. The first is a beautifully detailed elk, intricately carved into the lid of a walnut box and brought to life with artist oils. The rich tones of the walnut enhance the depth and realism of the carving, making it a striking display of craftsmanship.
Additionally, his eagle carving, crafted from basswood, demonstrates his mastery of both form and finish. Painted with artist oils and accented with gold leaf, the piece exudes a regal presence, highlighting the intricate details and lifelike features of the majestic bird. Both works exemplify Corso’s dedication to artistry and precision.
Custom Tables
Alan Salisbury‘s expertly crafted tables showcase the natural beauty and durability of red oak, paired with sturdy poplar bases. The rich grain and warm tones of the oak tops complement the clean, versatile design of the poplar, resulting in a collection of tables that are both elegant and functional, making them a timeless addition to any space.
